Thanks to A.J. and Shyamala for suggesting 'sharp'.

octothorp, n.
The hash sign (#), as it appears on the buttons of touch-tone telephones and some other keypads.

Octohorps! Octothorps! cried the knick-knack seller;
Perched a pair of bees on the shoulder of said feller.
The one cleared its throat, the other produced a harp;
Thusly sang the first, whilst the next strummed G ♯
"Untouched are our ears, sir, by the sound of money --
Would you sell us one, sir, for a # of honey?"
"Than you", quoth the knick-knacker, "I amn't dumber.
Away, away, silly pests, and leave me with your #.
Raid the hive and be back quick with card, cheque or cash;
Look I to your million eyes like one smoking #?"
Out then came a silvered purse in hands all a-quaking;
Glee of bee when sale was made there was no mistaking.

Bees.

He who sells the knick-knack knows
How they love their tic-tac-toes.

I was stung by a bee last month, was it?
What I had done to it I did not know.
T'was petty jealousy, now I get it.
They say I am the king of tic-tac-toe.
